Current focus

I’m a digital platform strategist and hands-on builder focused on the future of web operations in the age of AI.

I currently lead website strategy and digital marketing at Academy of Art University, where I guide digital platform direction and the teams responsible for institutional web delivery. Over the course of my career—from infrastructure engineering to development to digital leadership roles at Smith College, Mount Holyoke College, and UMass Amherst—I’ve focused on building durable systems that support complex organizations at scale.

Today my work centers on how AI is changing what small, capable teams can accomplish. I’m particularly interested in agentic workflows, AI-assisted development, and operational automation for large web environments.

I build working tools and prototypes to explore these shifts, combining product thinking with practical engineering. My focus is helping organizations reduce operational friction and modernize large digital platforms.

2026-04-04Using AI to speed up conventional CRUD development is useful, but I'm more interested in where AI changes the product itself.
2026-04-04Messing about with OpenClaw... Mac Mini incoming!
2026-04-03Built a career switcher app a few days ago. Integrated a LLM API call to OpenAI to analyze the user's career history and questionnaire answers. It generates a pretty good report.
2026-04-02Thinking about multi-agent web content workflows. Receive a request, propose update, verify update, make change, publish to staging, respond to requester with staging URL.
2026-04-02Building brianstoffer.com with Claude Code. The workflow is surprisingly good — describe what you want, review the diff, commit.
2026-04-01Built a very quick simple CRUD app for managing my daughter's collections (figurines, etc). Simple, and not very interesting use of AI. I need to add AI to the tools, not just using AI to build 1990's era tech.
2026-03-30Thinking about how higher ed CMS platforms will look in 5 years. My bet: less Drupal, more structured content + AI layer on top.
2026-03-28Now regularly running out of tokens with Claude Code. I could do this all day...
2026-03-28Exploring agentic workflows for web content management — LLMs as junior editors that flag stale pages, suggest rewrites, and surface gaps.
2026-03-25I love working in Claude Code. The commandline is like an old friend...
2026-03-21Built a quick CRUD tool for managing summer schedules for families. Very basic calendaring, sharing, downloading to local cals via .ics.
